Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TruShipy, operated by Truenotech, collects, uses, shares, and safeguards your information when you use our container, vessel, and Bill of Lading tracking platform at trushipy.truenotech.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the Service and provide tracking results:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you register. If you join via an invitation, we record which account invited you.
  • Tracking queries — the container numbers, Bill of Lading numbers, booking references, and vessel identifiers (MMSI/IMO) you submit, along with the results returned by carriers, so we can display and let you revisit your shipments.
  • Payment information — when you buy credits, payments are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay. Razorpay handles your card or banking details directly; TruShipy does not store full card numbers. We retain a transaction reference, amount, currency, and credit balance.
  • Usage and device data — basic log information such as IP address, browser type, and pages accessed, used for security, fraud prevention, and improving the Service.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your account and deliver tracking results from carrier and AIS data sources;
  • Process credit purchases, maintain your credit balance, and send transactional emails (verification, password reset, receipts);
  • Maintain security, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve platform reliability and features.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your tracking queries for advertising.

3. How we share information

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed:

  • Carrier and AIS data providers — your tracking identifiers are sent to the relevant ocean carrier API or AIS data source to retrieve shipment status.
  • Razorpay — our payment processor, to complete and verify transactions.
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting (Railway) and content delivery / security (Cloudflare) that run the platform.
  • Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of TruShipy, our users, or others.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember your session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings, though doing so will sign you out.

5. Data retention

We retain account and tracking data for as long as your account is active so you can revisit saved shipments. Transaction records are retained as required for accounting and legal obligations. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most account details from your profile settings, or contact us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.

7. Security

We protect data in transit with HTTPS/TLS, store passwords using one-way hashing, and apply security headers and access controls at the edge and application layers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards and to notify you of material incidents where required.

8. International data transfers

TruShipy is operated from India and uses infrastructure and service providers that may process data in other countries. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection law.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is a business tool intended for organisations and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves or as legal requirements change. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice within the Service.
